MiniReview of Extension Tube for Micro Four Third – Viltrox DG-M43 with Olympus E-M1

This is a MiniReview of Extension Tube for Micro Four Third – Viltrox DG-M43 with Olympus E-M1.
The 2 adapter: 10mm + 16mm Come in a white box (see picture) and any other accessory (box, cap or other).

Personally I’m using the body cap of the camera for transport. The Build quality is good but ... All plastic. And when mounted on the camera the joint is not accurate. You Have to rotate counterclockwise at maxium the Lens and the Tube. If accidentaly you turn the lens clockwise when the camera is On It can produces some electric contact failure (Not good for the camera). So be Careful!!!

The 16mm adapter can halve the minimum focus distance. When you mount both the adapter You can further decrease the minimum F.D.

  • With MZuiko 12-40 2.8 Pro the minimum Focus Distance without adapter is 6-7 cm from the front of the lens.

  • With MZuiko 12-40 2.8 Pro + 16mm Extension Tube the minimum Focus Distance is 3 cm from the front of the lens.

  • With MZuiko 12-40 2.8 Pro + 16mm + 10mm Extension Tube the minimum Focus Distance is some millimeter from the front of the lens.

Without considering the problem of joint the tube work very well and the AF system work well. Not Fast but not really slow. It’s still usable. If you need better focus speed you need a dedicated lens. But 50€ are less than 500€ of a dedicated lens.
